We have updated our training website - providing great detail as to what is covered during talks and training events for phonics and for handwriting.

To see these details, please visit:

www.syntheticphonicstraining.com

Thank you!

Two Day Training Events:

We now provide a limited number of special two-day training events which include reference to both the Phonics International programme and the ORT Floppy's Phonics Sounds and Letters programme (many primary settings use both programmes!).

These events are well-received and always include attendees from the UK and from overseas - they are very intensive, personalised and heart-warming events indeed!

If these are of interest to you as individuals or groups from schools, please see the description here:

We now provide training specifically for my online downloadable synthetic phonics programme 'Phonics International' and for the 'Oxford Reading Tree Floppy's Phonics Sounds and Letters' programme for which I am the phonics consultant.

We have had outstanding reviews for both these programmes - and for Phonics International this includes from Reception (four year olds) right through to secondary (Key Stage Three). Read about these via reports to be found at www.phonicsinternational.com .

We have had an outstanding review for our training provision conducted and written by the inspectorate for England's Department for Education:

I travel overseas occasionally to provide training or talks, or you may prefer to request the services of a number of people across the world who have been happy to join the team of accredited Phonics International trainers - for example, trainers with extensive experience in bi-lingual schools and contexts.

These trainers are independent and are free to train from the perspective of their own experiences and they may well recommend other phonics resources including cumulative decodable reading books. Their role is to offer a service to people - not to 'sell' Phonics International.

For overseas training and training enquiries, please contact:

caroline@phonicsinternational.com

May I please point out that the Phonics International programme, however, has been designed for people to be able to 'train' whilst using the programme's resources!

For example, detailed guidance is provided on every core SOUNDS BOOK ACTIVITY SHEET so that anyone can use this main resource and learn about the alphabetic code 'on the spot'.

You can see the latest 'How to set up and use...' document here with links to some core training information - all very practical and very effective:

http://www.phonicsinternational.com/how2.pdf

There are also many versions (designed for different audiences) of the Alphabetic Code Overview Chart which are FREE to download via our purpose-designed alphabetic code charts' site here:

www.alphabeticcodecharts.com

You can access a huge number of fantastic FREE significant resources for teaching and learning purposes and guidance via the Free Resources page here:

www.phonicsinternational.com

And you can find some great resources and guidance to support the teaching and learning of print and joined handwriting here:

www.debbiehepplewhitehandwriting.com

Phonics International is based completely on the synthetic phonics teaching principles and yet it has unique features and is unique in the breadth and helpfulness of its vast bank of resources.

I suggest, for example, that the 'two-pronged systematic and incidental phonics teaching' approach is the way we should all be moving forwards with our phonics and basic skills provision. You can read about this innovative approach via this short document:

http://www.phonicsinternational.com/Debbie_RRF_Two_pronged_handout.pdf

For many helpful ideas which can, in effect, help to 'train' people, plus important links to research and developments, please visit the Phonics International message forum at:
